Big Essay in-class Exam on the Historical Introduction is on Thursday/Friday. Please print Lab: Measuring with Accuracy.pdf and bring it to class. And... Lab: Density by Mass & Volume.pdf Your summer assignment should now be completed! You will need a spiral notebook for Class Notes, and a second spiral notebook for your Assignment Portfolio (A 70 sheet notebook should be sufficient if you use both sides of each sheet.). See course information sheet for more on these. Your first assignment is to HAND COPY the Historical Introduction Notes IN INK into your spiral notebook. NOTE: We do NOT turn in Notes. They stay in your Notebook. We turn in Labs and we do the Assignments in the Assignment Portfolio when they are due. Please check out your PHYSICS TEXTBOOK this week from the Bookie. It will not be necessary to bring it to class. Note: Boom will start all H-Physics students as electing the "Honors" option which gives a grade boost for college. If you feel uncomfortable about the math, remember that Algebra and Trig Functions are a requirement for this course, and that you used much algebra in Chemistry. If, after a few weeks, you find that the math is indeed too much for you to handle, then you may discuss with Boom the option of changing this course to "Conceptual Physics" wherein you are required to do very little math and not receive the grade boost. Honors Grade Boost : For each semester you may earn a grade bump if you meet the following three conditions: 1. You have no more than five absences. 2. You miss no more than three assignments. 3. You score an A on the Assignment Portfolio. It is 100 points of extra credit, or 1 grade boost in class, and a district grade boost for your transcript. And a UC grade boost! ................ GREAT ACTION!
